The Lake
Some Information on Etang De Cosse Carp Fishing Lake in France
Etange De Cosse lake is located in a quiet vally surrounded by trees and fields, all owned by the lake.
It is an intimate fishing location in France, ideally suited to small carp fishing parties. It is perfect for guests who are looking for luxury lake side accommodation not normally found on carp fishing vacations. It is also ideally suited to families or perhaps non carp fishing partners/friends wishing to join in the action.
In October 2002 the lake was heavily restocked with a fine selection of Mirror, Common and Grass Carp from 12lbs upto 42lbs. All these fish have come on well since then, due to the good lake conditions and an abundance of natural foods in the lake. We have a good head of grass carp in the lake.
There are 2 large cat fish weighing in this year ( 2007 ) at 73lbs and 62 lbs.
Additional Carp were also added in March 03 and again in Feb 05 to suppliment existing stock.
There is a small boat to help with bait placement. We can supply high protein carp pellets, the same medium we use to feed the lake with, if required.
The Lake
The lake is located in a small wooded valley and fed by an oxgen rich stream running through the valley.
It is very picturesque, with lots of trees, overhangs, sunken roots and willow trees.
One end of the lake is shallow where the stream enters, dropping to 10ft deep at the outlet.
A Great Location
There are few combinations of a nice house and lake available in France for exclusive use, similar to Etang De Cosse.

Many of our guests return to us, some are on their fourth visit to France at our carp fishing lake.
Night fishing is allowed and many of our guests prefer to fish early evenings and at night. The house is only a few metres from the edge of the lake and from a great swim location make access very easy.
We are a secure and gated private lake.
The Swims
There are several swims to use, but the most popular ones are those adjacent to the house. From these swims it is easy to cast to the opposite bank where the carp shelter in the shade of the tree overhangs.
All of the swims are natural grass and earth, apart from one wooden one by the fish holding traps.
